Black leatherette Cushion Swivel Glider recliner w/Ottoman Review

(More customer reviews)When I got the chair I was a little skeptical when the frame came out of the box looking much like one of those outdoor chairs with the metal beams running through it, but surprisingly when it came together it was quite comfortable. The padding really makes the chair. Glides well and seems to handle my 240lb weight fine.
Just fyi the on the back the chair comes about halfway up the back of my head and the leatherette material seems kind of thin, so if you want genuine leather or vinyl you may not be happy with this particular chair. Also when it is in the full upright position it seems to make you feel like you're sitting slightly too far forward.
Also when it reclines, think of how a computer chair reclines as to how far back it goes. Not really that far, but with the ottoman is quite comfy.
I also noticed some comparible chairs people complain about the welds. This particular one is welded quite securely all the way around and doesn't have any bad welds.

(More customer reviews)we bought this chair to welcome our newborn. it was thinly padded. plus the recliner snaps back with every movement. when you sit in it the chair collapses forward. it creaks when rocking. we are so disappointed. the only positive is it fits in our space. but we hesitate to sit in it while holding newborn.

(More customer reviews)The ottoman arrived broken with one of the arms that support it totally split through the wood.This is definetly a manufacturing defect and makes you wonder what kind of quality control they have.In regards to the comfort of the rocker my wife who is 8 months pregnant says the seat is as hard as a rock and the back does not come up high enough so if you are breastfeeding the baby at night you will not be able to lean back on a cushy spot. On top of this there is no one to contact to complain to. So your only recourse is to spend more money to return the item.Complete waste of money.

Shermag Glider Rocker Review

(More customer reviews)My husband and I purchased this rocker/glider back in October-we are expecting our first baby in December--and we love this chair! We have it in our living room right now for watching TV because it's so comfortable--no need to put it in the nursery yet! :) It was very easy to assemble--my husband put it together in about 15 minutes. I really wanted a rocker that reclined and this was the ONLY one I could find under $500 that had gotten good reviews. It does not come with an ottoman, we have a stool that we use, but you may not want an ottoman so it might not be an issue. We didn't have room in our nursery for one, so we weren't as concerned about trying to find a rocker/glider that came with one. The padding is thick and comfortable and the high back gives you good head support. It is fairly wide, but not too wide. I am 8 months pregnant and 170lbs and it has plenty of room! My husband fits in it very comfortably as well (he's about 195lbs and 6'). I did want to find a darker fabric color, but rockers/gliders in this price range just don't come in that many color options, unfortunately. This will definitely work for our nursery even though it is not the 'perfect' color. I would HIGHLY recommend this product! Enjoy!

I looked everywhere for a glider that was both within my budget and really comfortable. I had fallen in love with another Dutailier model that was almost three times the price and ever since, have been wanting a glider that also reclines. This one fits the bill. It's comfortable, easy to assemble and reclines (and you can glide while reclining - not all models allow for that feature). It's not the most attractive chair, but most of the gliders are relatively ugly (IMO), though it's not the worst looking one I have seen either. You can definitely tell that it is on the low end of Dutailier's line: the cushions and fabric, while comfortable, feel somewhat cheap and get very hot (my back sweats if it's the least bit warm in the house), and the chair rocks more than it glides, which is not true of some of the more expensive models. Nevertheless, if you are not in the market for $1500 glider, this is a good choice.
My baby is now 4 months old and we still use this chair regularly and both my husband and I find it extremely comfortable.

(More customer reviews)This glider is terrific for breastfeeding and chilling out with the baby. It's very smooth, comfortable, and looks decent, too. I would recommend shelling out for this more expensive and plumper-cushioned one, since you need all the cushioning you can get after birth and in the high-repetition on-demand breastfeeding schedule. One word of warning: the company ships these things in the cheapest, flimsiest box EVER and they can get damaged, so inspect CAREFULLY (the damage will probably be evident from both outside and inside the box, if you know what I mean) and snap photos and contact customer service to get replacement parts/pieces. Unfortunately, our ottoman was badly cracked in transit and the glider was dinged and a plastic piece that locks the unit was broken. We asked for a replacement for the ottoman but just for the broken part for the glider. It came without too much delay, but what a hassle. If it was all broken you'd have to ship it back...what a huge huge pain. But I do really really like this rocker (in cherry).

Graco Avalon Glider and Ottoman Review

(More customer reviews)I spent months searching for a new glider/ottoman combo for our new baby, because I wanted a quality chair for less than $200. Found it!
I trusted other reviewers who said this chair was comfortable and was especially sold by its larger dimensions. It took very little time to assemble and matches our other espresso furniture from another company. I plan to nurse in this chair and, at a heavy 9 months pregnant and 5'4", find the arms to be the perfect width and height for it! I can also firmly plant both feet on the ground, which was important. The height of the back of the chair could be a little taller like other chairs, but it is definitely supportive enough in the lower back and high enough for me to rest my head and sleep if necessary. The gliding mechanism is just as they say, very long and smooth- there's no wiggle room in it!
I am so glad I didn't throw away an extra 3 or 4 hundred dollars on another chair! This one is perfect!

(More customer reviews)We love this chair. It is so comfortable and luxurious. The hubs and I often fight over who gets to sit in it, and when we have family or friends over, guess which chair they are often drawn to??? You got it! This one.
It is built very well.....not your cheapo chair....but very afforable considering what we had looked at here locally and in the city for furniture of this kind. We specifically bought this one because it matches our chair and ottoman and couch, but found out it is better quality than what we already had!
It swivels, reclines, and I love the foot rest. This is a chair you could easy adn comfortably take an afternoon snooze in!!!

(More customer reviews)I am relatively happy with this chair, but this wasn't the perfect recliner that I had been hoping for. In the spirit of full disclosure:
- First of all, shipping was over $80 (to IL), so the price listed is a bit misleading.
- The cushions are comfortable, but thin and rather stiff. Don't expect to sink into soft, cushy, leatherette heaven when sitting down.
- Finally, and most importantly, the recliner does not recline particularly far. You won't get anywhere near horizontal on this chair. It's comfortable, but think "economy airline seat" with respect to the angle to which it reclines. This chair is primarily a rocker- and it performs exellently in this respect.
Negatives aside, it's a fine chair. It seems to be very solidly built. It ships fast and is a comfortable rocker. My pets fight to nap on it. I risked ordering the "plum" color, because I wanted a darker chair that would fit in with a dark brown decor. It turns out that the "plum" color is essentially dark brown- with no hint of purple or red- which was perfect for me.
If you are not bothered by any of the issues I described above, then it would certainly be a solid choice.

(More customer reviews)This chair is extremely comfortable in its fully reclined position. Unfortunately, it is extremely difficult to get in and out of, especially if you have back problems - which is why I bought the chair. Unlike every other reclining chair out there, this one DOES NOT COME TO A FULL UPRIGHT POSITION. It is always at least slightly reclined. You have to do a backwards straddle (if you can imagine such a thing) to get into it. You have to throw your knees to your chest to recline it. You have to use your elbows to bring it out of its fully reclined position (honestly) and you have to place your hands behind you on the armrests and launch yourself up to get out of it. Part of the problem is that it is very big, and seems to be designed for someone six feet or more tall. It does not come in a smaller version. Comfortable reclining - absolutely. But no chair, especially one that costs as much as this one does, should require acrobatics to get in and out of it. I was unable to return it, and had to take it to the dump.

Stork Craft Hoop Glider and Ottoman Review

(More customer reviews)I finally purchased a glider to use with the new baby. After going to a couple stores and taking a look at the 200-300 and even 400 dollar ones we decided to go with this basic glider to save money for christmas and other necessities.
So far I have had it assembled 2 weeks and use it many times during the day to nurse and read books. The bottom cushion is a bit hard but honestly this glider is well worth the money if you are on a budget don't feel bad about getting this one over the more expensive ones. It is pretty and does the job just fine.
When it arrived there was a huge rip in the box and the outer corner of the glider was exposed. Thankfully it was packed with foam around the corners and did not sustain any damage.
Assembly was quite easy and the glider bottom comes assembled, the ottoman is completely assembled. So it was 8 screws I believe, to assemble this and my DH had it done in about 20 minutes.
It has a nice warm finish and should match well with other cherry furniture. The cushions are a sandy beige color and are attractive.
I'd recommend this as a nice glider for someone looking to save $$.
Update - March 12, 2009 - Still satisfied with the purchase, has maintained its quality and gets a lot of use.
Update - May 22, 2010 - Now a nursing/reading chair. Frequently used and in nice shape. Looking into getting a better cushion set.

Rocker In Dark Oak Finish Review

(More customer reviews)This chair is not a good purchase. It was delivered by FedEx in a cardboard cartoon that was all wet and held together by tape. I spent all morning trying to figure out the directions that were obviously printed in a Chinese factory. Many of the parts look alike, so you have to guess what goes where. Then, after the chair was assembled, I sat in it and the back gave way. There was not enough glue on the dowels that held the back to the seat. There seems to be no way to fix that fault. I went to the hardware store for some "L" braces but those did not work, either. It sits in my bedroom taking up space. I wish I could get my $200 back, but I have no way of returning the chair. The box it came in is mush. Stay away from this one.

Coaster Traditional Rocking Chair, Nailhead Trim Style Bycast Leather Review

(More customer reviews)I had this chair for one week before the wood split and the arms fell off! BTW, I'm a 135lb. lightweight and the chair was assembled by my carpenter son-in-law. Please, save your money and don't buy this awful product. The materials used are cheap and most especially the wood is soft and not durable, even for small people like me. I subsequently bought another rocker from JC Penney and it is of the highest quality. Shame on this seller and Amazon for selling an obvious inferior product.
