(More customer reviews)Firstly, this chair is not the XL size as described. It's the regular size Lafuma Futura Clipper, Padded chair in the a nice shade of navy blue. I bought it to use indoors. Sometimes we need an extra chair; this folds up to 6 1/2" x 27" x 38 1/2" H. So it can easily be stored behind a door or in a closet.
It is so comfortable; everyone that's tried it has loved it. I was very tired yesterday after starting an exercise program. My legs were tired, my feet were tired...I reclined in this chair and it was like the best feeling ever. It's too easy for me to fall asleep in this chair because it seems to relax all of my body. (I don't have any disabilities so I can't speak on how the chair would work for those with problems).
It does not lift our feet above our heart. I'd guess our feet are about 2-4" below our heart. So if you're purchasing it for that reason, you'll need to use pillow/s under your legs or feet to raise them higher.
The first thing my husband and I noticed is that this chair is a little hard to get out of. I'm 5'3" and have to scoot up & push with my arms to get out of it, but I love the comfort of this chair so much...that it's okay with me. I just tried scooting w/o using my arms and was able to get in and out of the chair w/o using my arms.
There are what I'll call wings, a triangular piece of plastic, under both arms. By rotating the wings, either to the inside or outside, you lock the position of the chair. If you don't want to recline all the way back, you need to lock your position using the wings, otherwise the chair slowly starts moving into the full reclining position.
If you plan on using this padded chair outdoors, I would keep it out of wet weather. It would take a little drying time because of the padding. I'd order the chair, in my color choice, with this fabric instead Lafuma Futura Clipper, Forest.
My family loves this comfy recliner. In addition to using this chair indoors, I plan on using it outdoors to watch the Perseid Meteor Showers & other nighttime sky events.
