(More customer reviews)We already have a $300 Shermag rocker that we use in our nursery, and we got the Stork Craft Tuscany Glider/Ottoman when we wanted a 2nd chair but had less of a budget. Here are the main differences:
--- The Shermag is noticeably "plusher". The cushions are much, much softer. The Stork Craft has a pretty crunchy foam seat that needed to be broken in (not a lengthy process -- I kneeled on the cushion a few times before putting it on the seat). If, like me, you appreciate a firm cushion, you won't think this is a problem. Both chairs are attractive, and the quality of the Stork Craft fabric is nicer than I expected for the price point.
--- The Shermag is heavier and sturdier. I would be surprised if it didn't outlast the Stork Craft. (Hey, you get what you pay for!)
--- The Stork Craft was MUCH easier to assemble. Many fewer steps as the ottoman and bottom part of the chair (the glider) were fully assembled in box. My only complaint re: the assembly is that a hole was not drilled where it should have been to connect the left arm of the chair to the base. Each arm attaches in three places, and I found it to be sturdy enough without the third bolt that I didn't bother returning it. Next time my dad is over, I'll have him bring his drill and fix it for me ... no biggie. In the meantime, the arm doesn't wiggle with regular use.
--- Yes, the Stork Craft squeaks. It squeaks loudly enough to render it completely unusable. My dog actually came running in from the other room the first time I used it and started barking at the chair because she thought it was an animal, ha! The squeaking comes from the bolts on the glider part of the chair. I sprayed some WD-40 on the joints, and voila! No squeaking. If anything, I would say the gliding motion is now smoother than my Shermag.
--- The seats are different sizes. Once you have all the cushions and padding on, the Stork Craft seat is 18 inches across at the armrests and 17 inches deep, vs. the Shermag's 20 inches across and 20 inches deep. The back of the seat is longer on the Stork Craft -- 28 inches vs. 26. I am short and slightly overweight (5'4 with a long torso/short legs, size 14) and the Stork Craft fits me much better. However, I am sure the Shermag would be much more comfortable for a tall/long-legged woman, an average man, or someone more heavyset.
--- The Shermag has a lever to lock the chair in place, which I need on that chair to stand up smoothly while holding a sleeping baby since I have to scoot forward before I can touch the floor. The Stork Craft doesn't have the locking mechanism, and I thought I would miss it; but since the seat actually fits my legs, I have no problem getting in and out of the chair gracefully. (And believe me, that's a feat!)Overall, yes, the quality is obviously nicer on a more expensive chair. But the only dealbreaker for me was the squeaking, and it was an easy, $5 fix. If you are petite and looking for a nice, inexpensive rocker, this will definitely suit your needs! If you are tall/heavyset, you will definitely need to invest in a different chair.

Kneeling Office Chair with Blue Fabric Seat and Wood Frame - WL-SB-310-GG Review

(More customer reviews)I had a chair like this previously when I worked in a doctor's office. I liked how it made computer work less painful on my back, so I searched Amazon for a kneeling chair & found this one with the backrest (the backrest was more for my husband than me) for my home.
Having had experience with this type of chair previously made me prepared for the fact that you have to build up a tollerance for sitting in it. Because you have to use your abdominals & back muscles for support, most will find it uncomfortable on their shins for about a week or two, until your body becomes accustomed to placing your weight properly. Afterwards you will be able to sit for longer periods because you will learn to draw from your abdominals. The gentleman in the previous review stated that there isn't enough padding. I assure you that you will not be aware of this in a week or two. You will it has just the right amount. NO matter how much padding this chair has (or any other kneeling chair has), you will not be prepared to sit this way, so it will be your natural inclination to put most of your weight on your legs. Until you are get used to sitting in it properly, I recommend taking one leg off & placing it on the floor to give your shin a rest. Then replace it to the knee pad & remove the other shin to the floor. You can also add a pillow to the knee rest for a few days. You may want to have your previous chair available as you alternate too for small breaks. It seems like a lot of work, (afterall, no one has evet had to teach you to sit in an office chair) but your back will eventually thank you for the effort after a few weeks. I am a fitness instructor & personal trainer and I can tell you that even I have difficulty getting accustomed to this type of sitting at first. Like anything that requires effort, you will see the benefits outweigh the minor discomfort in the learning or acclimation process.
This is a very attractive chair, and it is as comfortable as I knew it would be given that it's only the 1st day that I'm using it. I purchased the back rest part only because I figured other people sitting in the chair might feel better knowing they could rest back. I like that natural wood finish & the blue pads. The back rest was purely a cosmetic issue for me, but not at all necessary. If I were buying it for myself, I wouldn't have cared if it had a backrest.
It arrived very promptly & in good condition. I will re-review the chair in a few weeks after my body gets re-accoustomed to sitting correctly.

The different positions are very hard to adjust, and after only using it 3 or 4 times, the piece is even a little bent. On one side you can adjust to the third position, on the other side it goes into position then slips out into the next one.
I think my chair may have been defective and intend to find out if I can return it for a replacement.

Wasatch Outdoor Folding Recliner - Forest Green (Free Shipping) Review

(More customer reviews)Mind you, this is being written after only 30 minutes of use, but I'm impressed. It was fully assembled, so setup was quick. It's a 'tad' heavier than a 'lawn chair', but it 'feels' sturdy. It adjusts to an infinite variety of positions (not just 'pre-set' positions). And the tubular frame is indeed 'coated', which would 'hopefully' (as they say in the description), cut down on rust...but I wouldn't advise leaving it out in the rain. The only (minor) drawback to this "end-of-the-season Forest Green color" is that it likely would be pretty hot if left out in the noonday sun of summer. (This shade of green is simialr to what they've found will 'absorb' the most heat in solar cell collectors.) But just a beach towel over the mesh surface material would make this even a good choice for beach weather. By the way, for a similar chair from another manufacturer, a reviewer gave the following information, which applies to 'this' model as well: "Some others have stated that they have a hard time adjusting the recline. The easiest way to do this is with your feet on the black bar in front of you. It is VERY hard to move and adjust with just your back and arms, but if you push with your feet ('I', myself, use my heels to lift it up/backwards/recline it') via the front bar, you can easily adjust yourself to whatever incline you feel is most comfortable." In addition, as is noted by reviewers of similar models, the position-locking mechanism doesn't exactly 'grab hold for dear life'. But, as long as you aren't 'forcibly' rocking back-and-forth or 'purposely' trying to MAKE it change from the position you've set it at, it WILL hold 'in place' quite sufficiently. Also, I should state that I'm somewhat smaller in stature than 'the typical American male', so if 'you' buy shirts or jackets in the XXL category, I'd probably recommend one of the other chairs that boast of an 'XL' size in their name.

Faulkner XL Recliner Towel with Pockets Review

(More customer reviews)With a little tweeking THIS TOWEL would be great. I like the pocket that goes over the top of the chair to keep in from sliding down. The three pockets on the other side are very handy to carry and store items in while using the chair.
The towel IS a nice idea but it isn't quite wide enough. It needs another inch or two. It is not long enough by a LONG shot. I was supposedly sent the XL to go with my XL lounge chair. But the towel needs at least 6" just to cover the bottom of the cushioned part of the chair. If I had sun lotion on my legs it would get all over the bottom of the chair. After a while, I would think that would stain the chair or cause a breakdown in the cushioning.
Like I said NICE IDEA!! But NEEDS A LITTLE WORK. I would recommend getting it for the chair. I might even recommend that if you have a regular size chair that you get the XL size towel. (If anyone does that and finds out that the towel is WAY WAY to big, let me know and I'll trade you. That might mean that I was sent the regular one instead of the XL.)

I am almost hesitant to write this review because I want to make sure there is one more left for me to order a second chair at this price!! You won't be disappointed. The chair is very comfortable, uses high quality materials and Lafuma is a company highly regarded for their design. Check out their website. They make amazing products. This green is more a muted army green, sort of grey. Very understated and modern looking. would match well with anything.

I bought this chair for just under $60, shipping included. I wrote the above review and the very next day it was double in price. Kind of lame i think. I suppose I can consider my purchase a lucky one. What I do know is that I will not be buying a second chair for more than what I paid for my first one. I would suggest holding out on your purchase, or check back until it goes down in price. If this seller sold the chair for $60 at one time, then they can sell it again at that price. if not I am sure somebody else is selling it at that price. I recommend holding out for the lower price.

(More customer reviews)This chair is awesome. I am 6'2" tall and heavily built. This chair is comfortable and durable. It is SO comfortable that when I take it camping I have been known to fall asleep in it.
If you will always use the chair in the Summer, the mesh may be cooler. I got the padded one since I also use it in cooler weather. Also, don't let the padded one get wet. It can take a while to dry.
Don't be worried about the one bad review on here. If you read what they guy says, he ignored directions to the contrary and left it outdoors for 2 years in the sun and rain. Duh.

Kelsyus Hammock Recliner, Green Review

(More customer reviews)I wanted a hammock I could easily store for the winter and not have to trip over a big, awkward base in my garage. I came to this strange design after falling asleep in my in-laws traditional hammock and having my feet fall asleep because they were slighty higher than my hips.
The Kelsyus recliner fit the bill. It's a shade less than 50 pounds, which strained my ability to make it "portable", but it is definately storable. I opened up the box at 9:57 PM. It was fully assembled less than 7 minutes later, including time to read the directions. It was just open up the box, fold out the fully assembled legs and stretch the canvas hammock between the posts. Fully extended, this thing is fairly large - probably shy of 7 feet long and 3 feet wide. Looks good on a deck though.
The Kelsyus dips lower once in it, so when it gives a weight limit, I'm thinking that is a good thing to bear in mind. Even if someone didn't hit the floor while in it, they'll definitely sink low enough to hit the support bars. I'm fairly small, so I can't speak to how well it holds up when stressed towards its limit.
Not everyone will like a reclining hammock, but the product itself is nice enough, easy to assemble, and compactable for storage. That kind of usability recommends itself.

Faulkner XL Recliner Forest Green Padded with Padded Arms Review

(More customer reviews)We purchased two XL Faulkner Recliners about 6 months ago. We could not decide between padded and mesh so we got one of each, both in dark green colors. The stitching is good, the fabric is strong, and the frames are of fine quality. But the padded dark green chair faded to a light blue within two months of being outdoors. The durability in the dye that was used on an outdoor product is unsatisfactory. The mesh chair still looks great. Both are very comfortable.
One reviewer suggested buying the XL chairs, even if you are not big. We followed his advice. While we have not tried the regular sized chairs, neither of us are big either. I find the XL chairs difficult to recline, because my feet don't reach the foot bar, and they need to in order to change the chair's position. I feel very silly, like a little child trying to operate an adult's reclining chair. My estimate is that you would not like the XL sizing so much unless your inseam is greater than 32". I wish we had bought the standard-sized units and saved $20 each.

There are not a lot of pieces to assemble...but except for the base, not everything lines up easily. As an example you have to connect the armrests to the chair with three bolts on each side. The holes on the chair and the armrest do not easily line up. Also, the base chair is heavy so it's not easy to maneauver while your trying to line things up. I did this alone, maybe with help it would be easier.

Stork Craft Hoop Glider and Ottoman Review

(More customer reviews)I finally purchased a glider to use with the new baby. After going to a couple stores and taking a look at the 200-300 and even 400 dollar ones we decided to go with this basic glider to save money for christmas and other necessities.
So far I have had it assembled 2 weeks and use it many times during the day to nurse and read books. The bottom cushion is a bit hard but honestly this glider is well worth the money if you are on a budget don't feel bad about getting this one over the more expensive ones. It is pretty and does the job just fine.
When it arrived there was a huge rip in the box and the outer corner of the glider was exposed. Thankfully it was packed with foam around the corners and did not sustain any damage.
Assembly was quite easy and the glider bottom comes assembled, the ottoman is completely assembled. So it was 8 screws I believe, to assemble this and my DH had it done in about 20 minutes.
It has a nice warm finish and should match well with other cherry furniture. The cushions are a sandy beige color and are attractive.
I'd recommend this as a nice glider for someone looking to save $$.
Update - March 12, 2009 - Still satisfied with the purchase, has maintained its quality and gets a lot of use.
Update - May 22, 2010 - Now a nursing/reading chair. Frequently used and in nice shape. Looking into getting a better cushion set.
