The country of origin for this chair is China. The fit and finish is typical Chinese. I bought two of these chairs. One of the chairs had bent parts that made the factory worker use a hammer to get parts fitted. I corrected this during assembly. In my opinion, if you can't change a car tire you may find assembly of these chairs to be very challenging. CHAIR DESIGN is good. Made with a welded steel tube frame and heavy steel base. The workmanship on the covering is good. The covering is zippered on allowing for future maintenance and repair. As stated in other reviews, it sits 2 - 3 inches to high off the floor. This could be fixed by making a new base. Due to the way the leg rest folds out it can't be lowered more than 2 inches otherwise the leg rest will strike the floor when it folds out. The leg rest lever operates opposite from what we have been used to in other chairs of it's type. COMFORT, the chair is comfortable to sit in. It is a good fit and padding is not over done. The lever action of the leg rest is stiff and takes a little more effort to fold out than other chairs of it's type. The chairs look good in my TV room and easy to move around.
